Stat attack: Mailer, Brown and Burrows most featured last season

Former captain Angus Mailer, midfielder Craig Brown and defender Matthew Burrows clocked up the most minutes for the University Men’s First Team last season.

Mailer – now with Elgin City – topped the appearance table with 3,707 minutes, followed by current captain Brown (3,626) and Burrows (3,520). The three players – along with Jason Jarvis and Callum Downie – played all 180 minutes of the Scottish Cup campaign.

In total, the team played a total of 45 games across seven competitions – winning 21, drawing four and losing 20. The greatest success of the season was lifting the BUCS Premier North trophy, having won seven of their 10 games.

Brown was crowned top goalscorer for all competitions – hitting the net on 16 occasions – with Kieran Hall on nine and Jarvis on seven.

Craig Brown was top scorer for the University last season.

Burrows and Jarvis chipped in with 10 assists each, with Hall on seven, while goalkeeper Ben Fry managed to keep out the opposition on seven occasions.

The University won nine Lowland League matches, drawing four and losing 12 – finishing the shortened season in 10th position. 

They won one match in each of the cup competitions before losing in the following round: the Scottish Cup, South Challenge Cup, Football National Qualifying Cup, Queen’s Park Shield and BUCS British Championships.
